Write a letter to your Congressman and Senators urging them to support the
International Violence Against Women Act (I-VAWA)
1 in 3 women worldwide are abused, raped, and/or subjected to violence in their lifetime. This legislation would
help protect women around the world and would be the first of its kind in the United States.
"I-VAWA (H.R. 4594, S. 2982), is the most comprehensive piece of legislation
addressing violence against women and girls worldwide"- World Pulse
"Violence against women and girls is a human rights violation, a public health epidemic and a
barrier to solving global challenges like desperate poverty, HIV/AIDS and conflict" - Amnesty International
This bill currently has 32 sponsors but none from Alaska's congressional
delegation. Let them know this legislation is important to Alaskans and urge them to sponsor it!
